Pastry week at Antwerp

A Sunday well spent, brings a week of content.

I couldn’t agree more with this quote. Exams are over and yesterday I went to Antwerp to treat myself with some delicious pastry. I didn’t do this for a random reason. No, a friend of mine came up with this idea because it is pastry week or like we say it in the Antwerp dialect “Pateekes week“.

What is it?

Pastry week is organized by the city of Antwerp. The main goal is to highlight the cosy coffeehouses and tearooms that the city has to offer. Believe me Antwerp has a lot of those to offer!

All you’ve got to do is buy a ‘Pateekespas‘ . This little book will cost you 10€ and gives you 10 vouchers to use in all the participating locations.

When is it?

You can enjoy some sweet and delicious pastry from 2/02/18 until 11/02/18.

Why you should do this

I am so glad that my friend asked me to do this with her because I had a lot of fun! This is the perfect way to get to know Antwerp. You are walking across a big part of the city so not only do you get to know the cosy tearooms and coffeehouses, you also discover the idyllic little streets that you normally wouldn’t do. Even for me there where some discoveries, even though I live in Antwerp. I guess you can always be surprised by your hometown? Also it is a lot of fun to do with your friends to have a little laugh and eat some delicious pastry! But do you really need to be convinced to go get some cheap pastry? I know I didn’t!

If you want to know more about this fun project. Go to the following website: Antwerp pastry week .  Note: The website is in Dutch.
