Black Friday, it’s a word that I’ve seen flashing by for a thousand times the past couple of days. You couldn’t miss it. The entire weekend you could find lots of deals and offers with 20%, 30% or even more. I was surprised because I wasn’t really familiar with this word: Black Friday.
Maybe I’ve been out of this world for the last few years or maybe I’m right and is Black Friday a new hype in Belgium. I didn’t really know what it was so I’ve read some articles about it. So what is it actually?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, so yes it is a tradition that originates from the US. This special day means the beginning of the season for buying Christmas gifts. Because of this the stores offer you some crazy deals and like that you can get some really good bargains. Isn’t that what we’re all looking for during this expensive time?
So now this tradition has also come to Belgium and probably also other countries in Europe. I think it’s a bit strange but I’m not complaining either. When going to the mall yesterday I was really surprised to see how many people had come to check this out. It was crazy crowded but I must admit that the sales were worth it.
So while being in the mall, my mom and I got a little too exited and yes we did some (maybe a lot) of shopping. What I’ve bought is still a little surprise, I’ll tell you more about that in my next shoplog. So have a little patience and keep an definitely keep an eye out for the blogpost coming next week!
